Katie & Dave met eight years ago finishing up school at UW-Madison. They first caught each others’ eyes due to their stunning good looks, but began to bond over a love for sports, video games, and general, nerdy internet culture. Over time, as they began to blend their families and friend groups, they were able to share countless special events and memories together. To name a few: catching the WWE Slammy Awards in the Twin Cities; drinking butterbeer at Harry Potter world in Orlando; seeing Adam Sandler (one of their favorite comedians) in Las Vegas; ranking various chowders at the Boston Marathon; and of course, getting engaged in New York City during the National Hot Dog Eating Contest. While they love sports and pop culture, they love their two cats (Anakin & Kamino) even more, and are excited for them to finally become an official family.

Tuesday, December 5: The bride, groom, and some guests arrive. Relax, explore and enjoy the resort! 

Wednesday, December 6: More guests arrive. Excursion in the afternoon TBD.

Thursday, December 7: Enjoy the resort! Swim-up bar in the afternoon. Welcome bonfire on the beach at night! 

Friday, December 8: The big day! 5K Race on the beach in the morning. Ceremony at 5:00 pm with a cocktail hour and reception to follow. Minimal dancing with plenty of games, drinks and food!

Saturday, December 9: Excursion TBD. Enjoy the resort as some guests begin to depart.

Sunday, December 10: One last drink at the swim-up bar. The bride, groom, and some guests depart.

Monday, December 11: Group rates do extend to check out Monday. Enjoy the resort, remaining guests depart.

El Dorado Royale & El Dorado Casitas Royale are all-suite resorts featuring 476 or 203 deluxe suites respectively. Wake up each day to captivating views of the Caribbean or our lush tropical gardens. These newly renovated suites surrounded by lavish garden views, are decorated with inspirational Mexican culture. Featuring authentic dark wood furniture with king or two queen beds, each suite has contemporary bathrooms equipped with relaxing hot tub, double sinks and our signature amenities, creating an overall relaxing and romantic atmosphere.

Swim Up Junior Suite - King Bed or 2 Queen Beds
These suites offer the same accommodations as the Luxury Junior Suite plus convenient access to a lazy river from your terrace or access to a tropical garden followed by the lazy river. Located from villa 1 to 5 and from villa 42 to 44.

The Casitas Suites are Ocean Front, romantically designed with the exclusive Aguas del Amor (outdoor shower) and with a tropical atmosphere with a palapa roof. Included is a contemporary marble bathroom with double sinks separate toilet, glass enclosed showers and an indoor relaxing hot tub, king size bed, personal night stand, minibar, and a secluded balcony with an exterior bed, table and two chairs. The casitas suites are grouped in two stories with an exclusive pool and a swim up pool bar.

Single Occupancy Rates

Rates are based on one person in a room by themselves.  Rates include hotel and shared airport transfers. Airfare and travel insurance are additional.

You'll be flying into the Cancun airport. The airport code is CUN. 

At Bliss Honeymoons, we have access to both the same published fares that you see online as well as contracted rates.

Given the challenges in the airline industry, we encourage you to book your flights directly with the airline. If you want to discuss your flights more or want us to send you specific flight suggestions, please select this option on your RSVP form.

Your reservation includes airport transfers, but we cannot book your transfers without your flight details.

Please be sure to submit your flight information no less than 45 days before departure. 

Make sure to book your flights for the same days as your hotel reservation! Please double-check your hotel check-in and check-out dates as you are researching flights and before actually booking your airfare. Included transfers apply only to your check-in and check-out dates and are from/to the airport and to/from the hotel. 

Here are some tips on booking airfare:

• Direct flights ensure more seamless and less stressful travel so consider booking a direct flight, even if it is a little more expensive.
• If you do have to book a flight with a layover, please pay close attention to the layover times. Airlines are notorious for allowing short layovers with a very high likelihood of missing the connection. While no one wants to sit around the airport for hours, you also don’t want the headache of missing your layover because of a short connection. We suggest choosing a schedule that has at least 1.5 hours on the way to your destination. On your way home, we suggest at least 2 hours to give extra time to get through immigration.
• Pick an arriving flight as early in the day as you prefer so that you have more time at your destination.
• For your returning flight, the ground transportation company will often pick you up four to five hours before your flight time so pick as late a departing flight as your schedule allows.
• Some airlines provide tickets that can be changed or canceled without a fee, such as Main Cabin fares. This costs a bit more upfront but can be helpful for unforeseen changes in your schedule.
• Again, verify your hotel check-in and check-out dates while you are researching flights and just before you book your airfare.

Baggage Fees:  Baggage fees are not included and must be paid directly to the airline. Please refer to the airline’s website for charges. If you have a TSA precheck number or frequent flyer number, you will add it to your reservation directly through the airline’s website. 

Please note! It’s not uncommon for your first and middle name to appear as one long name on the airline’s website. If this happens, don’t panic! Just check in as you usually would.

Round trip transportation from/to the airport is included in the package.

Once you have cleared customs and collected your bags, please proceed outside to the shuttle area. Please do not stop inside the terminal and accept assistance from another party. The parties inside the airport are timeshare salespeople.

Your transfers are shared, non-stop transfers. If you prefer private transfers, they are available for $160.00, round trip.

Once you have exited the terminal look for the Lomas Travel Rep. They will be wearing a blue shirt, white pants, and holding a sign for Lomas Travel.

If you are attending a destination wedding, chances are you are booking several months in advance.

Travel Insurance

• While we are sure you have every intention of making the trip, life can be unpredictable.
• The months between the deposit and your anticipated travel date could bring a job change, illness, or other circumstances preventing you from traveling. We have seen it all!
• Purchasing travel insurance is a smart investment that will protect you from financial loss.
• Most medical insurance policies do not offer coverage outside the United States, we do not recommend traveling without travel insurance.
• Travel insurance covers trip delays, trip cancellations, some medical coverage, lost luggage, and more.
• Travel insurance allows you to cancel for any covered reason and receive a full refund.
• Uncovered reasons are covered up to 75%.
• Please review the travel insurance policy here for more details.
• Airfare must be booked by Bliss to be included in your travel insurance coverage.
• If you book your air independently, we do offer a policy that will cover both your land and air. Please ask us for more info.

Travel Insurance is just $159.00 per person, up to $2,000 per person travel cost. If your travel cost exceeds $2,000 per person, we will provide you with a separate quote for travel insurance. 

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY

• The cost of the trip is not refundable. We urge you to purchase travel insurance to protect yourself from financial loss.
• Please note! Once final payment has been made, no refunds are issued for a reduction in the number of nights, room category, or the number of people in your party. If you have travel insurance, we can assist you with filing a claim for any reductions. This may incur a change fee.
• Penalties apply to all bookings. However, if you have travel insurance, you can recoup these losses by filing a claim with travel insurance.
• Please also note! The cost of travel insurance is not refundable for any reason.

Q. Is a COVID test required to enter Mexico?

A. At this time, there is no test required. You do not have to take a COVID test or complete a health form to enter Mexico. 

Q. What happens if there is a travel ban?

A. In case of a travel ban, we would move the wedding date. We will make every effort to ensure that everyone in the group can keep the same room and number of nights at the current group rate. 

Q. Does the travel insurance cover us if we decide to cancel due to fear of COVID?

A. Our travel insurance is a ” cancel for any reason” policy. Covered reasons are covered at 100%. Uncovered reasons are covered at 75%. Canceling due to fear of COVID is no different than canceling for fear of spiders and falls under the provision of the uncovered reasons. There is a link to the policy in the insurance section above. Please review the policy for covered and uncovered reasons.

Q. If there is a travel ban, aren’t the hotels and airlines required to give us a full refund?

No, they are not required to offer a refund for anything that falls under force majeure, such as government shutdowns, war, pandemics, or acts of God. We strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance to protect yourself from financial loss.

We offer a lot of great excursions in the Riviera May!

• We recommend that you pre-book your excursions and are working with Katie & Dave on one or two planned excursions for the group.
• By booking your excursions in advance you won’t have to worry about exchange rates, getting closed out of something that you really want to do, or getting stuck in a timeshare presentation when you thought you were going zip lining!
• Most of our excursions include transportation, or we can arrange for ground transportation.
