The Party

Cocktail Hour & Reception November 11, 2023
6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Our Story

Tiffany & Travarus first met while attending graduate school at the University of San Francisco in 2017. From Day 1 Orientation, they’ve been connected. As the couple tells it - Travarus had an open seat next to him and Tiffany sat down - Tiffany mentions that Travarus never looked her way, except only to respond to Tiffany’s question of “Is someone sitting here.” From there - the orientation group shifted rooms to a reception and the 2 began to converse. The ice was broken when Tiffany offered Travarus some of her grapes & the friendship began.

Starting as friends and classmates, Tiffany & Travarus kept their relationship really limited to school, as they had every class together - until late summer 2018 when after a party the 2 attended, Travarus asked Tiffany on a date - of which her answer was “You think so?” Fast forward to their first date (walking the Golden Gate Bridge in Fall 2018), the 2 discovered there was way more that they had in common and the journey together began.

Upon graduation in Summer 2019, Tiffany & Travarus decided to treat themselves to a graduation gift and took their first vacation as a couple to Oahu, Hawaii & fell in love with Waikiki - so much so that the 2 make it an annual trip and have been back 3 times. Since the island of Oahu is so special to the 2 of them - Travarus decided that this was the place he had to propose.

On July 6th, 2021 - on Makua Beach in Oahu, Hawaii - Travarus & Tiffany were officially engaged, surrounded only by a beautiful beach, a photographer and dolphins to witness the next phase in their love story.

Now - the love story continues & we can't wait for 11-11-23 to celebrate w/ you all!

Flight info

You will fly into the Los Cabos International airport. The airport code is SJD.

Given changes in the airline industry and the global pandemic, we encourage you to book your flights directly with the airline. If you want to discuss your flights more or would like us to send you specific flight suggestions, please let me know.

Your reservation includes airport transfers but we cannot book your transfers without your flight details.

Make sure to book your flights for the same days as your hotel reservation. If you plan to extend your stay at a different resort, please let me know so I can book your transfers accordingly.

Here are some tips:

  • Direct flights ensure more seamless and less stressful travel so consider booking a direct flight even if it is a little more expensive.
  • If you do have to book a flight with a layover, please pay close attention to the layover times. Airlines are notorious for allowing short layovers with a very high likelihood of missing the connection. While no one wants to sit around the airport for hours, you also don’t want the headache of missing your layover because of a short connection. I suggest choosing a schedule that has at least 1.5 hours on the way to your destination. On your way home, I suggest at least 2 hours to give extra time to get through immigration.
  • Pick an arriving flight as early in the day as you prefer so that you have more time at your destination.
  • For your returning flight, the ground transportation company will often pick you up three to four hours before your flight time so pick as late a departing flight as your schedule allows
  • Some airlines provide tickets that can be changed or canceled without a fee. This costs more upfront but can be helpful in these uncertain times.

Airport Transfers

Round trip transportation from the airport is included in the package. Once you have cleared customs and collected your bags, please proceed outside to the transfer area.

Your transfers will be shared with anyone in the wedding group who is booked on the same flights as you.

Travel Insurance and cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations before April 15, 2023: The deposit is non-refundable
  • Cancellations from April 15-July 15: 60% penalty for cancellations unless you have travel insurance
  • Cancellations after July 15: 100% penalty for cancellations unless you have travel insurance
  • No-show: 100% penalty regardless of travel insurance

Travel insurance will protect you from these cancellation fees if you need to cancel after your reservation is already in penalty.

Please note! Once the final payment due date has passed, penalties also apply to a reduction in nights, room category, or the number of people in your room.

I know that you may not be able to think of a reason that you would cancel your trip right now. It may be tempting to not include the cancellation insurance. Keep in mind that the cancellation policy above will not be waived for ANY reason unless you have this cancellation travel insurance. This includes if you get COVID or the flu right before the trip and cannot travel.

Still think you don't need insurance? Here are 14 reasons why you do!  These are all real reasons that weddings guests have had to cancel after the penalty period started.

If you’re attending a destination wedding, chances are you’re booking several months in advance. While we’re sure you have every intention of making the trip, life can be unpredictable. The months between the deposit and your anticipated date of travel could bring a job change, illness, or other circumstances that could prevent you from traveling. Purchasing travel insurance is a smart investment that will protect you from financial loss.

And because most medical insurance policies do not offer coverage outside the United States, we do not recommend traveling without insurance. Our trip insurance covers trip delay, trip cancellation, some medical coverage, lost luggage, and more.

How does the Cancellation coverage work?

  • The travel insurance would cover you with a “cancel for any reason” policy that would give you a refund for any non-refundable portions of your land reservation as long as you cancel at least 2 hours before departure. It does not include coverage for airfare.
  • Price: $150 per adult. $100 per child.
  • The cost of travel insurance is not refundable.

The insurance also includes the following in-travel coverage.

COVID FAQ

Please note that these are the policies that are in place as of September 2022. These rules could change between now and your departure date. Any updates will be posted here. The cancellation policy will not be waived if any of these policies change.

Q. Is a COVID test required to enter Mexico?

A. No. Mexico has never required a test for entry.

Q. Am I required to take a test to return to the United States?

A. Effective June 12, 2022, travelers to the US are no longer required to test the day before flying home.

Q. Could the COVID travel rules change?

A. Definitely. It is impossible to know if the testing rules will be reinstated. Mexico never required travelers to be vaccinated, but that is technically a possibility. If that would be an issue, we strongly suggest that you get the cancellation insurance offered with your reservation.

Q. What happens if there is a travel ban?

A. In the event of a travel ban, we would move the date of the wedding. We will make every effort to ensure that everyone in the group is able to keep the same room and number of nights at the current group rate.

Q. Does the travel insurance cover us if we decide to cancel due to fear of COVID?

A. Yes. Our travel insurance is a ” cancel for any reason” policy.

Q. If there is a travel ban, aren’t the hotels and airlines required to give us a full refund?

A. No, they are not required to offer a refund for anything that falls under force majeure such as government shutdowns, war, pandemics, or acts of God. We strongly encourage you to purchase trip insurance to protect yourself from a financial loss.

Fun Things To Do In Mexico

We offer a lot of great excursions in this destination! We recommend that you pre-book your excursions. By booking your excursions in advance you won’t have to worry about exchange rates, getting closed out of something that you really want to do, or getting stuck in a timeshare presentation when you thought you were going zip lining! Most of our excursions include transportation.

  • Private Yacht cruise to snorkel, swim, visit the arches, and relax!
  • Whale Watching season technically starts in November though it is just the start.
  • ATV tour
  • Ziplining
  • And more!
